Come out and audition for the comedy "The Turn of the Worm," a production by the Le Mars Community Theatre with run dates at the end of October.
Five actors, three men, two mature and one young, and three females, two mature and one young, are needed to help bring the characters to life.
Auditions for the play are 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 3 and 4 at the Postal Playhouse, 105 First St. N.E., in Le Mars.
There's no need to prepare in advance or bring anything to the auditions, except a sense of humor.
But anyone interested in reading the script before the auditions can do so by calling Director Frances Krull, at 546-4519 or 540-3467.
And if those audition dates don't fit the bill, Krull can also be contacted to schedule an alternate time.
"The Turn of the Worm" is the story of two, elderly Italian sisters, who share an inner city apartment for safety, but only speak to one another three times a year. When two young thugs try to steal from them, their brother, a priest, comes to their rescue. He makes the street urchins move in with the old ladies to learn about love and understanding.
There will be seven performances of "The Turn of the Worm" beginning Friday, Oct. 24 through Sunday, Oct. 26, and from Thursday, Oct. 30 through Sunday, Nov. 2.
Rehearsals usually begin between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Time commitments depend on the size of the role. The possibility of a flexible schedule with interested parties will be discussed at the auditions.
If "The Turn of the Worm" doesn't sound like your cup of tea, encourage a friend or family member to audition.
Seasoned actors or beginners are encouraged to participate to nurture old relationships or cultivate new ones and find a place within the Le Mars Community Theatre at the Postal Playhouse.
For more questions contact Krull or the Postal Playhouse, 546-5788, or online at postalplayhouse@frontiernet.net.
