Senator Harkin plans Le Mars visit

Monday, August 4, 2008
Senator Tom Harkin will be hosting a Le Mars meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 6 during a cross-Iowa tour.

The Democrat plans to visit with local residents about his work in Washington to help Iowa's working families.

The public is invited to attend the cafe stop, which will be held at 10 a.m. at Lally's Eastside Restaurant.

The restaurant is located at 125 Plymouth Street N.E.

Harkin's stop in Le Mars is part of a tour that began in Ames on Saturday and will stretch eastward to Dubuque and westward to Ashton within the week.

The goal of his tour is to spend August touring flood relief efforts and visiting communities of all sizes to move the state forward.

On Monday, Harkin will tour Iowa flood relief efforts in Coralville, Cedar Rapids and Rochester.

On Wednesday following his Le Mars visit, the senator will also stop at Sioux Center's Greater Sioux Community Health Center at 1 p.m., the George-Little Rock Middle School in Little Rock at 3:15 p.m. and Ashton's POET Biorefining ethanol plant at 5 p.m.
