Eight seek fair king title for 2008

The 2008 Plymouth County Fair King will be crowned on the first evening of the Plymouth County Fair in a ceremony in the grandstand area.

Eight young men are vying for the title of king. The candidates, their parents and sponsoring club are:

David Becker of Le Mars, son of Doug and Peg Becker, Lincoln Toppers 4-H Club.

Ben Beitelspacher of Le Mars, son of Kelly Beitelspacher and Sandy Norby, Grant Little Giants.

Greg Dewey of Westfield, son of Jerry and Marcia Dewey, Akron-Westfield FFA Chapter.

Jason Lammers of Le Mars, son of Greg and Jeanne Lammers, Perry Pals.

Michael Ruba of Remsen, son of Jerry and Lynne Ruba, Remsen Ramblers.

Ryan Schroeder of Le Mars, son of Tony and Shirley Schroeder, Union Vikings.

Jacob Trierweiler of Hinton, son of Ton and Cindy Trierweiler, Lincoln Toppers.

Mitchell Zenk of Akron, son of Fred and Donna Zenk, Perry Pals.

Judging for the candidates was held June 22 at the Primebank meeting room.

Following the judging the king candidates and fair queen candidates had a catered meal with the judges. After the meal, the group took a bus to Lewis Bowl North in Sioux City where they were divided into groups to bowl along with the judges.
