Danny Clyde Robinson, 49, was charged Monday with that felony and with operating while intoxicated, second offense, regarding an accident on August 11, 2007.

Robinson will appear for arraignment July 21 to enter his plea of not guilty or guilty.
The Merrill man turned himself in to the Plymouth County Jail on July 9 and was released after he posted the required 10 percent of his $50,000 bond.
The accident on August 11, 2007 took place on county road C-38, one-third of a mile west of Kestrel Avenue.
Nielson called the authorities at about 1:19 a.m., reporting that she had been in an accident. Four minutes later, according to the Plymouth County Sheriff's report, Nielson was struck by a van driven by Robinson.
Nielson was transported by helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City where she was pronounced dead.
Robinson was taken into custody that night, charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, his second offense, and later released on bond.



this is a truly unfortunate case. my heart goes out to all those involved.
and while not the focus of this article, which really is the people involved and those mourning, i would like to commend the sentinel for adding 'allegedly' to their crime-related stories. it might seem insignificant, but the paper and the local justice system are better for it.
