Festivites begin at 5 p.m. Friday evening in the City Park with Carnival Fun. There will be free fun and games for the whole family with inflatable rides suitable for all ages. This event is sponsored by the City of Hinton and various Hinton area businesses. The carnival will be open until 9 p.m. The carnival fun will re-open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The American Legion Casper Post #477 Auxilary invites you to sit down and play some bingo in the shetler house of City Park from 6-8:30 p.m. Money raised will go to benefit veterans and to help with the Girls' State program.
Starting at 8:30 p.m., a Texas Hold'em event will take place at the Silver Dollar. For more information, contact the Silver Dollar at 712-947-4704.
The City Park will be holding a teen dance from 9-11 p.m. Friday night. The music will be provided by a DJ, and pop and popcorn will be served.
Friday's activities come to a close with the family movie night at the ball fields next to the golf course. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the classic film "ET" after dark.
Saturday's fun begins early with the two mile and 5K fun runs. Registration beings at 7 a.m. at the Hinton Community Center with the starting time at 7:30 a.m. You may preregister by including your name and current hometown in an email to: johnspies@mtcnet.net. Bikes are not allowed during the races.
There will be an omelet breakfast at the Community Hall from 7-10 a.m. for the community. The food will be prepared by the Lions Club and the event is sponsored by the Civic Club. A freewill offering is suggested.
Put that razor away for the beard contest from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Community Hall. Winners will be in the parade at 10:30 a.m. New beards must have your picture taken by a member of the committee before you start growing the beard. Established beards can register at any time. The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. along the frontage road. The line up will start at 9.

There will be a car and tractor show from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the north school parking lot. All makes and models of cars, pickups, farm equipment, and motorcylces will be accepted. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Hinton area vendor show will be at the school's multipurpose room. The vendor show will allow you to visit with Hinton area businesses and discover all of the products and services available to you in and around the Hinton area.
From 3:30-5 p.m., the All School Reunion Social Hour will give alumni an opportunity to get reacquainted with former classmates and teachers. Guided tours will be given of the school so that alum can see what has changed in the halls of Hinton.
The All School Reunion will be held from 5 p.m. to midnight in the Community Hall. The cost is $20 per person and $25 per couple. Cost includes meal and street dance. Everyone is welcome to attend, especially past students, teachers, and parents. Please fill out the reservation form on the www.hintoniowa.com website. The street dance will begin at 8 p.m. and is $5 per person if you are not attending the reunion.
Sunday's activities bring a close to the quasquicentennial celebration, starting with the Golf Fun Day. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., all Hinton residents past and present can enjoy free golf courtesy of Deer Run Golf Course. Golf carts can be rented at normal fees.
At 10:30 a.m., City Park will be holding a community church service provided by Hinton area churches. Stay afterward for the community potluck. Bring your own place servings and beverage.
