After that, however, the Eagles kept them silent for five straight innings.
Lawton scored two in the bottom of the first to pull within one and then took the lead by scoring two more in the bottom of the second.
Up 4-3, the Eagles added one more in the bottom of the sixth to add to their lead.
But K-P rallied back in the top of the seventh.
Ashley Langel popped out to tally the Lady Panthers' first out.
After that, Dani Bottorff, Jen Henrich and Jessica Washburn knocked out a trio of singles to load the bases.
Ashley Ruba came up with a single to drive in the first run of the inning. Danielle Sudbeck knocked out a two-RBI single to take a one-run lead.
One more K-P run and an inning of tough defense in the bottom of the seventh gave the Lady Panthers the 7-5 win.
"Our defense played tremendous," Henrich said. "Dani Bottorff made a double play in the bottom of the seventh to finish the game."
Defensively, the Lady Panthers played an error-free game Monday. On the mound, Onna Olson gave up five runs--four earned--on eight hits and one walk.
At the plate, K-P totaled 11 hits on the night. Ruba was a big leader, going 3-4, scoring two runs and recording two RBI's.
Sudbeck was 2-4 with a single and a double and four RBI's. Washburn was 2-4 and scored one run while Bottorff was 2-4 and scored two runs. Langel and Jen Henrich were each 1-4 and each scored a run as well.
With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 2-13 overall.
K-P plays host tonight in a Maple Valley Conference match-up with Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto.
"Hopefully we can stay on a run here," Henrich said. "If we play [against MVAO] like we did tonight, we have a good shot at it."
The Lady Panthers are currently 0-4 in the conference.
