Mick was born March 25, 1965, in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Walt and Sally (Banister) McDonald. Mick attended school in and graduated from high school in Casper, Wyo.
After high school, Mick was a truck driver for Pacific Fruit and Produce in Casper, Wyo. He then moved to Denver, Colo., and worked with Shamrock Foods. After that Mick moved to Iowa and worked for Harker's Inc., and then went to work for Mohawk Industries in Des Moines, where he worked for nine years as a professional over-the-road truck driver.
Mick loved and enjoyed helping his mother, yard work, fishing, photography, coin collecting, and restoring cars. Mick also enjoyed his nieces and nephews and all their sporting activities. Mick was a great son, brother, and uncle.
Mick is survived by his mother; Sally McDonald of Albia; three brothers: Stan McDonald of Des Moines, Gregg (Janene) McDonald of Cody, Wyo., and Army Staff Sergeant Steve (Susan) McDonald stationed in Fort Wainright, Alaska; and one sister, Shari (Dave) Lepley of Albia. Mick is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Everett and Marie McDonald of Chariton, and Fred and Florence Banister of Plainfield, Ill., His father; Walt; and one brother Randy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia. Pastor Timothy Luke officiating. Burial will follow services at Oak View Cemetery in Albia.
Visitation be after noon Friday at the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday evening at the Winfield funeral Home.
A memorial in Mick's name will be established at a later date.
