The engraved stones were set into place Wednesday afternoon on a lot across the street from the Legion Hall.
The memorial will dedicated in during the 10:30 a.m. Memorial Day service Monday, May 26.
Legion members started on the project a little more than a year ago, according to Jim Marienau, post adjutant.
"It's coming together good," Marienau said. The legion worked with Luken Memorial of Yankton, S.D., for the stones, designs and engraving.
The two tall memorial stones have the names of 228 veterans engraved, with room for more. Each name represents a $125 donation from the veteran or their family. Other funding came from donations and grants.
The Legion has hosted a Memorial Day ceremony for a number of years which includes the posting of flags on the east lawn from the hall.
This year's guest speaker is the Rev. Dan Gerrietts, who serves as pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Brunsville and Christ Lutheran Church, rural Le Mars.
