Kent and Jane Westphal of Le Mars and Bob and Roma Visser of Sioux Falls, S.D., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Scott and Whitney. The couple is planning a 5 p.m. ceremony at Faith Baptist Fellowship in Sioux Falls on June 14, 2008. An outdoor reception will be held at Upper Tuthill Park following the ceremony.

Whitney is a 2004 graduate of Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, and will graduate in May from Central College in Pella with a double major in chemistry and French.

Scott is a 2002 graduate of Le Mars Community High School and a 2006 graduate of Central College with a double major in chemistry and biology. He is finishing his second year of medical school at the University of Iowa.
