Two separate stoppages from rain cut the night short Tuesday at the Heartland Relays in Marcus, but between the storms the Hinton girls' track team shone bright.

The Blackhawks won a total of 10 events and cruised to the team title with 149 points - well ahead of second-place Akron-Westfield with 108.

Kinsey Bak turned in Hinton's top individual performance with three golds, adding a fourth as part of a first-place relay.

Schindel added her own individual gold in the 800-meter run (2:29.50), while Kelci Teut helped Hinton capture three of four field events with a winning spin in the discus (92-9).

Kylie Poss mined her share of gold Tuesday as well, scoring an individual title in the 200-meter dash (28.28) while running with Mackenzie Small, Abby Hageman and Moody on the Blackhawks' first-place 4x200 relay (1:53.55).

Hageman won the 100-meter dash (13.07), Small was second in the long jump (15-1 3/4) and Moody took third in the 400 hurdles (77.56) and sixth in the high jump (4-4).

The 4x800 team of Jaci Dehner, Erica VanHolland, Nadja Dubois and Audrey Jenkins rounded out the Hinton first-place finishes (11:31.28) and Dehner, Dubois and Jenkins added medals at other points in the meet.

Jans was fourth in the 400 hurdles (78.59) and ran with Dehner, Crystal Robinson and Brittany Stampe on Hinton's third-place shuttle hurdle relay (1:17.93).
