David and Lori Nixon of Woodward and Alan and Laurie Schroeder of Granville announce the engagement of their children, Emily Nixon of Remsen and Doug Schroeder of Granville.

Grandparents of the bride-to-be are Bill and Dolores Geneser of Granger, and Wily and Gwen Nixon of Woodward. The bridegroom-elect's grandparents are Arlene Galles of Remsen and Lyle and Phyllis Schroeder of Granville. Florence Schroeder of Remsen is his great-grandmother.

Emily is a 2003 graduate of Woodward-Granger High School and a 2007 graduate of Buena Vista University. She is currently working as an assistant teacher for Head Start in Hawarden.

Doug is a 2003 graduate of Spalding Catholic High School and a 2005 graduate of Iowa Lakes Community College. He currently works on the family farm.

The couple is planning a 2 p.m. wedding ceremony on June 28, 2008, at St. Joseph's Church in Granville. The reception and dance will follow at the VFW Hall in Paullina.
