Loriann Nelson of Le Mars and Terry Nelson of Pierre, S.D., announce the engagement of their daughter, Mariah Marie Lynn Nelson, to Trent Thomas Brown, son of Troy and Michelle Brown of Merrill.

The couple is planning a May 3, 2008, ceremony at United Methodist Church of Le Mars. The reception and dance will follow at the Le Mars Convention Center.

Mariah is a 2005 graduate of Le Mars Community High School. She is continuing her education at Western Iowa Tech Community College along with working at Primebank and Mr. P's Pizza and Sports Bar in Le Mars.

Her fiance is a 2004 graduate of Hinton High School. He is employed at Wells Dairy, Inc., in Le Mars.
