Mildred and Edward Drake of Le Mars will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house Friday, Nov. 23, 2007. The open house will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 110 Plymouth St. S.W., Le Mars. They request no gifts, please.

Hosting the event will be their four daughters and spouses: Marilyn and Melvin Neyens of Le Mars, Marlus and Maynard Mammen of Hinton, Linda Rodriguez of Lancaster, Calif., and Vicki and Darrell Willer of Oshgosh, Wis. They have 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Ed Drake and the former Mildred Frerichs were married Nov. 25, 1937, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston Township, rural Akron.
