Museum hosts Ethnic Food Fair Sunday

Tuesday, October 23, 2007

Whether your tastes run from German potato salad, kringlas, fry bread or enchiladas, there’s something for everyone to taste at the Plymouth County Historical Museum’s annual Ethnic Food Fair this Sunday, Oct. 28.

The public is welcome to sample the various ethnic foods beginning at 3 p.m. until the supply is gone. "A Taste of Plymouth County" is open to the public, with a $1 admission. Proceeds will go to the museum.

In addition to the food fair this Sunday, the museum will host another series of "Pioneer Potluck" programs at 1:30 p.m. in the Music Room. A display will open at 1 p.m. in the Home Room. Following the program, pioneer dishes from the various families will be available at the Ethnic Food Fair.

Among this year's offerings will be the following booths:

Bohemian: Marian Baker

English: Glada Koerselman, Jean Rowe and Margaret Wolf

Luxembourg: Myrt Weiler, Ethel Heidesch, Ethel Mayer

Native American: Paul Williams

Pioneer American: the Museum

Root beer stand: the Museum

Norwegian: Ruth Marie Faber

The Museum expects at least 12 booths this year.

More ethnic booths are welcome at the fair. Anyone who would like to share an ethnic dish should contact the Museum immediately, 546-7002, or e-mail pchm@lemarscomm.net. There is no charge to exhibitors.
