DAVENPORT â€" Laren Jordahl, 64, of Davenport, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.
Mr. Jordahl was born in 1941 to Ben and Elna Jordahl in Sioux City. He served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. On Oct. 17, 1963, he married Marlene K. Leibrich in Elk Point, S.D.
He was a feeder drive with U.P.S. for 28 years, retiring in 2003. He also owned Fluid Filtration Systems in Durant.
His memberships infolded Teamster Union #710. He enjoyed sprint car racing events, traveling to visit family and friends, and being with his good friends for coffee.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene; son, Bryan Jordahl of Davenport; daughters, Brenda Jordahl-Buckles of Davenport, and Tanya and Scott Stephens of Geneseo, Ill.; grandchildren, Brynn and Ben Jordahl, Jaime, Lindsey and Sydney Buckles and Cameron and Zakery Stephens; and a sister, Janice Roeder of Kansas City, Kan.
Celebration of Life services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge, in Davenport. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, Ill., where military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #26, Davenport.
A memorial has been established in his name.
