On Friday, July 27, 2007, Michael Gotto, son of Darryl Gotto of Las Vegas, Nev., and Linda Gotto of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., proposed to the love of his life, Melanie Pollaro, daughter of Don and Eileen Pollaro of Fountain Valley, Calif. Michael is the grandson of former Le Mars resident Joyce (Sanow) Gotto.

Michael and Melanie are currently preparing to spend the next six months in Hong Kong. Michael will be teaching kindergarten and Melanie will be playing the characters of Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty at Hong Kong Disneyland. They will return in April in time to finalize everything for their wedding to take place on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the Richard Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, Calif.
