Le Mars man killed in motorcycle collision

A Le Mars man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck Thursday morning, the Le Mars Police Department reported.

Investigators from the police department and the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office determined that a motorcycle driven by Nicaise Dallas Dexter, 21, of Le Mars (formerly of Riverside, Calif.) was northbound on First Avenue Southwest at 10:14 a.m.

A 2004 Chevy pickup truck driven by Dennis Bollin, 50, Le Mars, was eastbound on Prospect Street Southwest.

As Bollin's pickup entered the intersection, it was struck on the passenger side by the motorcycle driven by Dexter.

Dexter died at the scene.

The police department said that the investigation into the accident is continuing.

The Le Mars Police Department was assisted in the investigation of this accident by the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office, Le Mars Ambulance Service, Le Mars Fire Department, and the Iowa State Patrol.
