Jeff and Nancy Stafford of Independence, Ky., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Kristen Stafford of Remsen, to Michael Matgen of Remsen. He is the son of Steve and Nancy Matgen of Remsen.

The couple is planning a 4:30 p.m. ceremony on Sept. 8, 2007, in Burlington, Ky. The reception will be held at The Little Brittian Farm Carriage House immediately following the ceremony.

Kristen attended Le Mars Beauty College and works at Park Place Estates.

Michael is employed by Town & Country Construction in Remsen.
