Mike and Connie Schmidt, of Dakota Dunes, announce the engagement of their son Corey Schmidt to Amy Sargent, daughter of Dan and Pam Sargent, of Ames.

The couple will be married on Aug.18 in Ames.

Corey is a 1998 graduate of Le Mars Community High School and a 2003 graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in management information systems. He is employed by Ortho Computer Systems, Inc. in Ames as a software support representative and trainer.

Amy is a 2000 graduate of Ames High School and a 2005 graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in marketing and psychology. She is also employed by Ortho Computer Systems, Inc. in Ames as a corporate relations manager.
