Presidential candidate Cox schedules Le Mars stop

Wednesday, July 25, 2007

Republican presidential candidate John H. Cox will be bringing his campaign to western Iowa Wednesday, including a stop at Le Mars' Ice Cream Capital of the World Ice Cream Parlor at 5:20 p.m.

Calling himself a "Reagan Republican" from Illinois, Cox became the first Republican to formally enter the presidential race when he threw his hat in the ring in March 2006.

Cox, an attorney and founder of an investment advisory firm, a real estate management company, and a venture capital firm, said he'll be using his "whistlestop tour" to "hear what Iowans have to say."

This tour of 31 Iowa cities will be Cox's 26th trip of his campaign.

Cox's Le Mars event is free and open to the public.

Only one-third of the people who have seen at least one of the skits watched it first live on "Saturday Night Live." More people have checked them out online or, to a lesser extent, watched later on a digital video recorder or through video on demand, according to Integrated Media Measurement Inc., a research firm that measures media exposure through a person's mobile phone.
