Plymouth County Fair queen field has 21 contestants

Judging for the 2007 Plymouth County Fair queen candidates was held July 17 at Primebank. Twenty-one young ladies representing Plymouth County 4-H clubs and FFA chapters are vying for the title of 2007 Plymouth County Fair Queen.

Crowning of the queen, and naming of two princesses and Miss Congeniality will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, in the grandstand arena, on the opening day of the Plymouth County Fair.

Judging for the queen candidates was held July 17 at the Primebank lower level.

Fair queen and king candidates held a joint tour day June 10, with a get-acquainted time in the afternoon, dinner, and a trip to Sioux City for an evening of bowling at Lewis Bowl on Hamilton Boulevard.

This year's candidates, their parents and the club they represent are:

Samantha Beeck, 18, Sioux City, daughter of Chris and Angie Beeck, Liberty Perry Pacers.

Nicole Bottjen, 17, Kingsley, daughter of Garry and Ronda Bottjen, Kingsley Krowners.

Emily Calamanco, 16, Le Mars, daughter of Debbie Cooper, American Panthers.

Ashley Nicole Erickson, 17, Seney, daughter of Bruce and Brenda Erickson, American Panthers.

Shanna Higgins, 17, Remsen, daughter of Shane and Cari Higgins, Stars and Stripes.

Amanda Jaminet, 17, Le Mars, daughter of Mike and Karen Jaminet, Stanton Lucky Clovers.

Laura Marie Kleihauer, 18, Akron, daughter of Lucy Baker and Gordon Kleihauer, Akron-Westfield FFA Chapter.
