The country schoolhouse, a longtime fixture at the fair, is pictured with its American flag waving in the breeze.
The inscription reads: "The schoolhouse. Shirley Woehler-Criswell and her family have manned this building and creatives things for the fairgoers to do for several years."
There are only 250 pewter and 250 color pewter collectible belt buckles produced. Each buckle is numbered in this limited edition.
Four buckles, the number 1 and 2 pewter and the number 1 and 2 color, will be sold to the highest bidder at the annual Fair Auction at the Plymouth County Fair on Sunday, July 29, at 5 p.m. in Pioneer Village. The auction features the belt buckles and other collectibles, as well as chainsaw art pieces by A.J. Lutter.
Those who have ordered buckles may pick them up by calling Dale Van Voorst at 540-8800 or Lance Pedersen at 540-5693 or any toy club member. The buckles will also be available at the Town & Country Toy Club's Toy Store located in the west end of the Pioneer Village.
Van Voorst and Pedersen presented a pewter and colored belt buckle to the Plymouth County Historical Museum, continuing a tradition that provides a complete set of buckles for display.
