Charles and Teresa Oetken of Le Mars announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Amanda, to Chase Breitbarth of Akron. He is the son of Greg and Julie Breitbarth of Akron.

The couple plans to be married Aug. 11, 2007, at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars, with Fr. John Apel (great-uncle of the bride) and Fr. James Tigges presiding. The reception and dance will follow at the Brunsville Legion Hall.

Amanda is a 2005 graduate of Gehlen Catholic High School and a 2007 graduate of Western Iowa Tech Community College. She is employed with Medical Associates in Le Mars.

Chase is a 2003 graduate of Akron-Westfield High School. He is self-employed.
