BLOOMINGTON, Minn.. -- Royal R. Hawkins, 82, of Bloomington, Minn., died Wednesday, June 13, 2007.

Royal was raised in Le Mars and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.

He was a longtime employee of Honeywell and Sundstrand-Sauer as an electrical engineer.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dorothy; son, Steven and his wife Janene; grandchildren Andrea (Jeff) Kyllonen, Douglas and Brandon; a great-granddaughter, Erica; one brother, Lorvan Hawkins and his wife, Phyllis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elva Hawkins; and two brothers, Duane and Norris.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. today (Monday), with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Washburn-McReavy, Wernenss Brothers Chapel, 2300 W. Old Shakopee, Rd., Bloomington, Minn. Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn.
