Randy William Stabe was born Dec. 31, 1963, in Le Mars, the son of William Paul and Patty Orlene (Durr) Stabe. He was raised in Le Mars and attended Le Mars Community Schools. Following his education Randy worked in the construction business with his father. He would later work at Meis Seed and Feed and with Arens' Painting. His most recent occupation was with the City of Le Mars Parks and Cemeteries Department. He was forced to retire due to his failing health.
Randy enjoyed fishing and playing cards. In his younger years he was an avid bowler and played on a softball league.
He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Patty Plueger and her husband Leonard of Le Mars; three sisters Debbie Lubben of Sioux Falls, S.D., Terri Carter of Sioux City, and Lynette Conley and her husband Jim of Marcus; his grandmother Colleen Durr of Le Mars; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father William; grandparents Ray and Evelyn Stabe and Orville Durr Sr.; and a nephew Brett Olson.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. The Rev. Dan Gerrietts will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service set for 7:30 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the funeral home prior to the service on Thursday.
