Seth Patrick Swanger

Seth Patrick Swanger, 27, of Moville, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 25, 2007, in Le Mars.

Seth was born Jan. 19, 1980, in Sioux City, the son of Dennis and Kereen (O'Connor) Swanger. He grew up in Moville and graduated from Woodbury Central High School in 1998, where he was active in sports. He played football at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake.

Seth was currently a team leader at Wells Blue Bunny in Le Mars.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville.

Seth was an avid golfer and was a member of Meadows Country Club in Moville. He was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Denver Broncos. He volunteered at Woodbury Central with sports where he refereed, helped in the weight room and assisted with whatever was asked of him.

Seth was also the ultimate friend to many people, high school and college pals, co-workers, family and many others in the Moville and Le Mars communities.

Survivors include his parents, Denny and Kereen Swanger of Moville; a sister, Angie Sleezer and her husband, Brian of Moville; three brothers, Jason Swanger and his wife, Jessica of Faribault, Minn., twins, Zach Swanger and his wife, Kim of Marion, and Que Swanger and his wife, Colleen of Sac City; his fiancee, Kendra Loutsch of Remsen; maternal grandmother, Joyce Bergstrom of Moville; maternal grandmother, Dorri O'Connor of Livingston, Mont.; 12 nieces and nephews, Justine, Adam, Hailee, Justina, Dylan, Hayden, Morgan, Lauren, Kaden, Emma, Abby and Jack; a great-niece, Brailee; and several godchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Jim O'Connor; maternal grandfather, Richard Bergstrom; paternal grandparents, Russell and Gert Swanger; and a nephew, Ethan.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. today (Monday) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville, with the Rev. Mark Stoll officiating. Burial was in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville. Visitation was 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Visitation resumed at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Pallbearers were Derrick Bleil, Clint Thompson, Nate Colbert, Nick Wahlberg, Jay Dee Wahlberg, Luke McElrath, Kelly Manker and Trevor Bleil. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Kabliska, Jason Peterson and Adam Sleezer.

In lieu of flowers, donations and gifts are welcome to the Woodbury Central Booster Club for the weight room.
