Diane L. Oxford, 54, of West Burlington, and formerly of Le Mars, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Diane, the daughter of Burdette and Gracie (Cave) Holtgrewe, was born Oct. 26, 1952, in Primghar. She graduated from Remsen-Union High School in 1970. She received her nursing degree from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Sioux City. During her career, she was a nurse at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, worked in medical sales, and served as a hospital administrator.

Diane was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. In recent years she took great joy in spending time with her three grandchildren. Diane was passionate about caring for others; she volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and read to elementary school students.

She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and walks with her dog Bailey.

Diane is survived by four children and three grandchildren: Nichole Mohning-Roths, her husband, John Roths, and their three children, Will, Ella, and Adeline Roths, of Salina, Kan., Matthew Mohning and his wife, Beth Forsythe, of Washington, D.C.. Alex Mohning of Peoria, Ill., and Adam Mohning and his wife, Becky, of Fairfax, Va.

She is also survived by her mother, Gracie Holtgrewe, of Le Mars; four sisters and two brothers: Evonne Ewinger and her husband, Craig, of West Burlington, Anita Collier of Le Mars; B.J. Holtgrewe and his wife, Lynne, of Bellevue, Wash., Pat Nelson and her husband, Jeff, of Atlantic, John Holtgrewe and his wife, Nancy, of Le Mars and Lisa Whitehead and her husband, Ervin, of Le Mars. Diane is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Burdette Holtgrewe, Sr.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26, at United Methodist Church of Le Mars. The Rev. Mike Janes will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Thursday one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
