HAWARDEN -- Charlie Grant Newman, 101, formerly of Hawarden, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at the Mesa Manor N.H. in Grand Junction, Colo., following a three-month decline in health.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Hawarden. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery, Hawarden. Visitation will begin noon today (Monday), with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.
