On June 2, 1947 she married Robert Schnieders at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen. They made their home in Remsen where they operated a grocery store. They retired in February 1981. Bob died Dec. 13, 1990. She had been a resident of Montclair Nursing Center since February 2007.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the church Guild, and Catholic Daughters of America, all in Remsen. In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Richard and Beth of Houston, Texas and Ken and Sallie of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Chris Schnieders of Monrovia, Calif., and Cathy Schnieders and her husband Mark Fliecher M.D. of Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren; one sister, Arlene and her husband Norman Ludwig of La Porte City; two brothers, George Hansen Jr. and his wife Cordella of Windom, Minn., and Donald Hansen of La Porte City.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, John.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdy at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen with the Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Remsen. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today (Tuesday), at the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen. There will be a rosary a 3 p.m. by St. Mary's Guild and the Catholic Daughters of America and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Casketbearers will be Brandon and Marshall Schnieders, Rod Salazar, Michael Bunkers, Jinx Matgen and Steve Pick.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Happy Siesta Health Care Center Auxiliary.
