Rachel Wiers and Adam Wissink announce their engagement. The couple was engaged on New Year's Eve and is planning a July 14, 2007, wedding at Sunnybrook Community Church in Sioux City.

The bride-elect, daughter of Robert and Judith Wiers of Brookfield, Wis., is originally from Escondido, Calif. She is employed as a kindergarten teacher at McKinley Elementary School in Sioux City.

Her fiance, son of Roger and Linda Wissink of Le Mars, is originally from Hull, and works as a certified energy specialist for Cenex Harvest States, Inc.

After the wedding festivities, the couple will take a wedding trip Jamaica and will make their home in Sioux City.
