Janelle Madsen of Heron Lake, Minn., and Ben Johnson of Ireton announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Duane and Joan Madsen of Heron Lake and

Carl and Joann Johnson of Ireton.

The couple is planning a June 9 wedding in Heron Lake.

Janelle is a 2001 graduate of Southwest Star Concept High School and a 2005 graduate of South Dakota State University, Brookings, S.D., with a degree in horticulture. She is employed at New Vision Co-op.

Johnson is a 2001 graduate of Le Mars Community High School and a 2006 graduate of South Dakota State University, Brookings, S.D., with a degree in agricultural business. He is currently self -employed in farming.
