Evelyn Ream, 89, of Le Mars, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Village in Le Mars.
Evelyn Ream was born Feb. 5, 1917, on a farm in Nebraska, the daughter of Chester N. and Bertha (Williams) Ream. She attended country school in Nebraska and later in Iowa after her family moved to this area. Following her education, Evelyn worked as a housekeeper for various families in Sioux City. In September of 1941 she moved to Cherokee, Iowa. She would later move to the Plymouth County Home of Le Mars in 1961. On Feb. 28, 2000, Evelyn became a resident of the Brentwood Good Samaritan Home in Le Mars (now Good Samaritan Village).
She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Marian Ream of Le Mars, Dorothy Ream and Lois Ream of Sioux City; several nieces and nephews; and her family at the Good Samaritan Village in Le Mars.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers Earl, Jesse, Ollie, Arthur, George and Chester.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Village (Brentwood) of Le Mars. Burial followed at the Dakota City Cemetery in Dakota City, Neb. Visitation began at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Village. The Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars is conducting the arrangements.
