Bryce A. Weinreich, 79, of Kingsley, died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Bryce A. Weinreich was born April 24, 1927, in Pierson, the son of Jack and Ina (Harm) Weinreich. He grew up in the Pierson area, attending Pierson school He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. On Nov. 26, 1955, he married Mary Werthman of Cherokee.

Bryce was an independent dairy farmer until his retirement. He was the greens keeper at the Kingsley and Correctionville golf courses. Also, from 1997 until the present, he was employed by the American National Bank of Kingsley, Pierson, Moville, and Holstein.

He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Kingsley.

The most important things in his life were his wife, Mary of Kingsley; two sons Bryan Weinreich (Barney) and his wife, Janiece of Corning; and Danny Weinreich of Kingsley; three daughters, Barb Gunter and her husband, Tony of Le Mars, Dawn Plendl and her husband, Randy of Kingsley, and Kristi Mogensen of Kingsley, and special friend, Kirk Hall of Le Mars; 11 grandchildren, a brother, Beryl Weinreich and his wife, Duana of Billings, Mont.; and a special bond with Mike and Jenny Linton of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Linton of Pierson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kingsley. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation begins at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday), with a rosary at 4 p.m., and the family present from 5 to 7 p.m., with a Scripture wake service at 7 p.m. at the Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley.
