The engagement and approaching marriage of Magan Harpenau and Michael Horstmann is made know by their parents, Dan and Amy Harpenau of Le Mars and Mark and Jo Horstmann of Sutherland.

The couple is planning a Dec. 29, 2006, wedding at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars, with a reception and dance to follow at the Hole 'N the Wall Lodge at Akron.

Magan is a 1997 graduate of Gehlen Catholic High School and Huron University where she graduated with majors in business and marketing in 2001. She is a sales consultant with Novartis Pharmaceuticals.

Michael is a 1997 graduate of South O'Brien High School and is currently engaged in farming and is employed at C-S Agrow Services.
