Lara Christianson of Urbandale, the daughter of Lon and Jane Christianson of Bemidji, Minn., and Chad Plathe of Urbandale (formerly of Remsen) and the son of Steve and Rosanne Plathe of Remsen, announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

A Nov. 11, 2006, wedding is planned at St. Francis of Assisi in Des Moines.

Lara is a 2001 graduate of Lakeville High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications at Iowa State University and is currently employed as a public relations account coordinator at Strategic America in Des Moines.

Chad is a 1999 graduate of St. Mary's High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural systems technology at Iowa State University and is currently employed as a field test technician for John Deere AMS in Urbandale.
