Adelle B. Offerdahl, 81, of Beresford, S.D., died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Adell Beatrice Offerdahl was born July 2, 1925 in Union County, S.D., to parents Lars and Alma (Anderson) Hanson. Adell was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Brule Creek Lutheran Church. She married Milton Offerdahl on June 30, 1943. They farmed in the Beresford, S.D., community.
Adell was a homemaker, a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her door was always open, whether at her apartment or at Bethesda, and she enjoyed all her many friends. She loved to watch the Minnesota Twins.
She is survived by her two daughters, Marlys (Duane) Clay of Beresford, S.D., and Carol (Chuck) Garvin of Le Mars; six grandchildren, Stacey (Randy) Namminga, Stephanie (Ryan) James, Lindsay Clay, Ryan Clay, Jill Garvin and Amy Garvin; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Palmer (Ruth) Hanson of Cherokee, Kenneth (Phyllis) Hanson of Maynard, Ark., and Robert (Shirley) Hanson of Alcester, S.D.; and two sisters, Lois Jensen of Cambridge, Minn., and Evelyn Solberg of Alcester, S.D.
Preceding her in death was her husband; parents and two brothers, Darrell and Rodney.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford. Burial was at 10 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m.
