Larry W. Miller, 66 of Collinsville, Okla., and formerly of rural Merrill, died suddenly Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at a hospital in Tulsa, Okla.
Larry W. Miller was born Oct. 14, 1939, in Ponca City, Okla., the son of William and Arlene (Frerichs) Miller. He moved with his family at an early age to Le Mars, where he was raised. Larry graduated from Le Mars High School in 1958.
On Sept. 23, 1961, Larry and Judy Conway were united in marriage at Sioux City. The couple farmed in the Merrill area. In 1989, they moved to Collinsville, Okla., where Larry worked as an aircraft mechanic for the Oklahoma Air National Guard in Tulsa. He retired from the Air Guard and later worked for Nordam in their repair division.
Larry enjoyed a variety of pastimes including fishing, hunting, playing cards, and working puzzles. He particularly enjoyed his grandchildren and his role as a grandpa.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Judy of Collinsville, Okla.; two sons, Mark Miller of Le Mars and Randy Miller of Owasso, Okla.; five grandchildren, Michael, Brittany, Krysta, Samantha and Dustin Miller; his mother, Arlene Blom of Le Mars; two brothers, Ronald Miller and his wife Bette of Merrill, and Dean Miller of Sioux City; and a sister, Pam McVeigh of Monroe, La.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother Billy Miller.
A Memorial Service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Larry Fett will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
