Katherine Bar of Richmond, Va., and Martin Bohnenkamp of Norfolk, Va., were united in marriage Sept. 24, 2005, in a 4:30 p.m. outdoor ceremony at Schwab Barns at rural Solon, Iowa. Music was provided by cellist James Ellis.

Rabbi Jay Holstein and Father Jim Carr officiated the double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Dr. Bob and Laurie Bar of Chaska, Minn., and Bob and Jeanne Bohnenkamp of Le Mars.

The bride's attendant was her brother, Matthew Bar, of New York, N.Y.

The bridegroom's attendants were his brother Matthew Bohnenkamp, of Oak Forest, Ill., and his sisters, Julie Bohnenkamp of Cary, N.C., and Katie Bohnenkamp of Overland Park, Kan.

Seating the wedding guests were Brent Kneip, Matt Kreinert and Matt Henry.

The reception and dance were held at Schwab's Round Barn immediately following the ceremony.

Katie is a graduate of Iowa City West High, Northwestern University, the University of Iowa College of Medicine, and the Internal Medicine Residency program at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Marty is a graduate of Gehlen Catholic High School, the University of Iowa, and University of Iowa College Medicine, and the Family Practice/Internal Medicine Residency program at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

After finishing their residence programs in June, the couple moved from Williamsburg, Va., to Homewood, Ala. Katie has begun a fellowship in infectious disease at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Marty has begin work at Jefferson Clinic, P.C., in Birmingham.
