Carol A. Hale, 63, of Des Moines, died July 15, 2006, at her home.

Carol was born in Des Moines and had lived in Le Mars for 25 years until she returned to Des Moines in 2000.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She liked to do embroidery and bowl.

She will be missed by her daughter, Denene Haafke of Vermillion, S.D.; son, Mark (Becky) of Des Moines; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild and three sisters, Valerie (Bob) Burgett, Terry McAlpine and Debbie Shannon, all of Des Moines.

It was Carol's request to be cremated and a memorial gathering will be held Tuesday, July 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Care-Tonini Chapel, 2135 SW 9th Street, Des Moines.
