The engagement and approaching marriage of Mandi Marie DeRocher and Ryan Scott Parker of Urbandale is announced by their parents, Paul and Kris DeRocher of Le Mars and Jerry and Jeannie Parker of Cedar Rapids.

The couple plans a 3 p.m. ceremony Aug. 19, 2006, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okoboji. The ceremony will be officiated by the Rev. Larry Fett of Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Following the wedding ceremony, a charter boat ride will follow on the Queen II and then a reception and dance at The Community Center in Spirit Lake.

Mandi graduated from LeMars Community High School in 2001. She attended the University of Northern Iowa, earning a bachelor of arts in therapeutic recreation in May 2005. Mandi is employed by Link Associates in Des Moines.

Ryan graduated from Kennedy High School in 1999. He attended the University of Northern Iowa where he earned a bachelors degree in business administration in December 2004. Ryan is employed by Hy-Vee in Urbandale.
