The family thanks those who not only cared, but believed in Marie, especially during her last seven years. She was often called a "trooper," who worked her way back from many health obstacles, time after time, even when the odds were against her. Her perseverance and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A 5 p.m. memorial Mass to celebrate her life was held Monday, April 10, at Presentation Church in Lee's Summit. A time of visitation preceded the mass. It was Mrs. Mura's wish to bequeath her body to the University of Kansas Medical Center for research and teaching.

The family suggests contributions to Crossroads Hospice, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of the giver's choice.
