Pat Lane's personal-best 18-hole round of 78 led the Le Mars Community boys golf team to a runner-up finish in the 'A' division of the Lakes Invite at Brooks Golf Course in Okoboji Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs tied meet champion Okoboji with a four-player total of 327, but the Pioneers won the tiebreaker based on their fifth golfer's round of 87. Lakes Conference teams Spencer (329), Emmetsburg (332), Spirit Lake (335) and Estherville Lincoln Central (347) also competed.
Individual medalist honors went to Emmetsburg's Tom Thompson, who carded 38 on both the front and back nine holes for a 76 total.
