MARSHALL, Minn. -- Emma T. Miller, 100, of Marshall, Minn., died Friday, March 31, 2006, at the Minneota Manor at Minneota, Minn.

Emma Therea Miller was born March 8, 1906, at Marshall, Minn., the daughter of William Sr. and Selma Marie (Weidauer) Seiler. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith, and attended country school near her parents' farm.

Emma and Elmer Miller were arried Jan. 1, 1931, in Marshall. After their marriage, they farmed near Hanley Falls and Lynd, Minn., and eventually moved to a farm near Marshall. Emma worked along side of Elmer in the fields and around the farms.

To this union four children were born, namely, Ardella, Gloria, Kenneth and John. Elmer died in 1975. Emma moved into the Lyon County retirement home in 1976.

Emma was a very active member at the Albright United Methodist Church where she was a member of the UMW circle, sang in the choir and often sang solos.

The love of her life was her family; she often would recited memorized poetry to her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her three children, Ardella and Clayton Hodgson of Le Mars, Kenneth and Cheryl Miller of Dresser, Wis., and John and Nanci Miller of Minneapolis, Minn.; 13 grandchildren, Beth (Richard) Schuetz, David Hodgson, Jill (Scott) Boeyink, Doug (Elizabeth) Hodgson, Bruce (Robin) Magnuson, Mike (Kristin) Magnuson, Julie (Robin) Folks, Andrea (Michael) Peterman, Grant (Tobie) Miller, Brent (Kathy) Miller, Bridget (Fred) Spiess and Brooks (Tinna) Miller; 32 great-grandchildren; a sister, Clara Trommer BAker of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four sisters-in-law, Betty Seiler, Emma L. Miller, and Lucilloe Miller, all of Marshall, and Genevieve MIller of Pipestone, Minn.; also many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her poarents; her husband, Elmer; a dughter, Gloria and son-in-law, Gordon; six b rothers, William, Louis, Carl, Walter, Herman and Irvin Seiler; four sisters, Freda Fischer, Minne Breitenkamp, Rose Fischer and Laura Miller; mother and father-in-law, Alfred and Bertha Miller; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Otto and Catherine Miller, Albert Miller, Ruth Olive Rose Miller, Mayme Louise Miller and Walter Miller.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, at Albright United Methodist Church. Burial was in Marshall Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. The Hamilton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
