SWANVILLE, Minn. -- Ivan Schultz, 87, of Swanville, Minn., died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at his residence as a result of a farm accident.
Ivan was born Aug. 15, 1918. in Merrill, the son of Charles & Helena (Lippke) (Kehrberg) Schultz. He attended country school near Merrill, and was a member of Stanton Evangelical Church. He was united in marriage to Blanche VanPeursem on Sept. 17, 1939 in Spencer. They farmed near Le Mars until 1950, when they purchased a dairy farm near Swanville, Minn. He also drove a milk truck in the area. The couple remained living on the farm until the time of his death.
He was a member of the Swanville Bible Church, where he served as a financial secretary for two 20- year terms. He also served as the Culdrum Township supervisor, was on the Swanville school board, and was an officer of the Swanville Rural Fire Association.
Ivan loved God, his country, & his family very much.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche of 66 years; sons, Ronald (Jeanne) Schultz of Merrill, Daniel (Lynn) Schultz of Center City, Minn., John (Sandee) Schultz of Cambridge, Minn., Timothy of St. Paul, Minn., and Charlie (Jill) Schultz of Swanville, Minn.; daughter, Cynthia (Dennis) Kircher of Burtrum, Minn.; daughter-in-law, LaVern Nelson of Rush City, Minn.; grandchildren, Jodi (Michael) VanLeeuwen, Tami (Kyle) Mullenix, Brenda (Dennis) Valentyn, Tom (Heather) Kircher, Keith Kircher, Nate (Shannon) Kircher, Shelly Kircher, Dean (Trina) Schultz, Toni Schultz, Aaron Schultz, Jason Schultz, Jeffery (Mary) Schultz, Nicole Schultz, Lisa Schultz, Whitney Schultz, Ben Schultz, Abbey Schultz, and Grace Schultz; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a son, Larry in 1988; grandchildren, Bradley Schultz and Stacie Schultz; brothers, Edward Kehrberg and Carl Schultz; twin brother, Harry Schultz; and sister, Alva Kehrberg.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Swanville Saturday with Pastor David Packo and Pastor Roland Jennings officiating. Burial will be at Springbrook Cemetery in Swanville, Minn. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Swanville Bible Church, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Pallbearers will be Dean Schultz, Aaron Schultz, Jason Schultz, Jeff Schultz, Nate Kircher and Ben Schultz. Honorary pallbearers will Tom Kircher and Keith Kircher.
