Mary and Steve Kovarna of Merrill, announce the engagement of their daughter, Beth Kovarna to Luis Trejo. Luis is the son of Jeanne Trejo of Sioux City and Jorge Trejo of Davenport.

The couple is planning a fall beach wedding in Crofton, Neb. A reception and dance will follow.

Beth is a 2001 graduate of Hinton High School and received her degree in public relations and Spanish at Coe College in Cedar Rapids in 2005. She is currently working as a marketing specialist in Cedar Rapids.

Luis is a 2000 graduate of East High School in Sioux City. He is currently studying economics at the University of Iowa. He is also employed at Toyota Financial and serves as a Staff Sergeant at the 185th Air National Guard.
