Jessica Marie DeLaney and Christopher Eugene Steffens, both from Clara City, Minn., are engaged to be married Sept. 23, 2006, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City.

Jessica is the daughter of Mary DeLaney of Le Mars. She is a 1998 graduate of Remsen-Union High School in Remsen, and a 2001 graduate of Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City. She earned an associate of science degree, and is employed as a physical therapist assistant in a skilled nursing facility.

Chris is the son of Arnold Steffens of Clara City, Minn., and Kristi Jakobs of Willmar, Minn. He is a 1997 graduate from MACCRAY High School in Clara City, Minn. He is employed by the R & R Bakery in Clara City.
