Helen J. Mallette, 90, of Chandler, Texas, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at a Chandler nursing center.
She was born Oct. 21, 1915, in Le Mars, the daughter of Joe Clyde Overman and Edna May Ivey. She had lived in East Texas for the past 25 years, and previously lived in Iowa and Arkansas.
She was a homemaker and a long-time member of Chandler First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ross Mallette of Chandler; sons, Ronald Mallette of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dwayne Mallette of Chandler, Roger Mallette of Reno, Nev., Jim Mallette of Columbia, Mo.; daughters, Marlene Mercer of Phoenix, Ariz., Carolyn Collins of Emory, Texas, and Janice Remer of Bozeman, Mont.; a sister, Mary VanDenBurg of Sioux Center, Iowa; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Chandler First United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Luckert officiating. Burial will be in Chandler Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors, Tyler, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Jeriamiah Mallette, Colby Antonowicz, Spence Mercer, Lance Mallette, Casey Mallette, Ray Collins, Curtis Collins, and Anthony Collins.
Memorials may be made to Legacy Hospice, Chandler Nursing Center, or Chandler First United Methodist Church.
