WITCC announces degree for working adults in Le Mars

Tuesday, December 20, 2005
Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC), Le Mars center, has announced an associate of arts degree that is specially tailored to the needs of working adults.

Classes will be held in Le Mars, Wednesdays, from 6 to 10 p.m. Program enrollment is limited to 15 students. The program will begin April 2006.

The degree is designed for highly motivated adults, minimum age 21. Students take only one course at a time. All the courses are a combination of online technology and face-to-face instruction.

Most of the program classes are five weeks in length with the exception of math, accounting and science which are six weeks in length.

Students have the option of choosing an associate of arts degree in either business or education, however, either track will serve as general education courses for most bachelor's degrees.

Students enrolled in the program can expect to graduate in the fall of 2008. Credits earned at other institutions, or credits previously earned at Western Iowa Tech, may apply toward the degree. Credits earned through this program are transferable to a baccalaureate program.

Evening informational meetings will be held after the first of the year at WITCC's Le Mars center.
