Kari Ann Langel and Bryce David Hemme were united in marriage at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars, on Sept. 24, 2005. The Rev. Kevin Richter officiated the 2 p.m. double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Dan and Jenni Langel of Le Mars and Shayne and Helena McDougall, also of Le Mars, and the late David Hemme. Grandparents of the couple are Ray and Dorothy Langel of Le Mars, Bill and the late Bobby Welter of Le Mars, Henry and Marrietta Mulder of Orange City, Norman and Janice Hemme of Le Mars, and Doug and Vonice McDougall of Le Mars. Greatgrandmother of the bride is Sylvia Treinen of Le Mars.

Maid of honor was Kari Wiltgen, friend of the bride, of Le Mars with Kayla Jiskoot of Waterloo, Jama Christopherson, sister of the bridegroom, of Vermillion, S.D., Katie Browns of Seabrook, Texas, and Tess Lundstrom of Iowa City as bridesmaids.

Sara Langel of Davenport, Tiffani McDougall of North Liberty, and Erica McDougall of Le Mars were the bride's personal attendants.

The bride's fingertip veil was made by Vonice McDougall, the bridegroom's grandmother.

Best man was Sean Nore, friend of the bridegroom, of Cedar Falls with Cole Langel, brother of the bride, of Ankeny, Alex Langel, brother of the bride, of Le Mars, Kyle Oetken of Cedar Rapids, and Aaron Prieksat of Cedar Falls.

Ushers were Jeremy McDougall of Coralville, Devon McDougall of Le Mars, Mike Mohning of St. Louis Park, Minn., Jim Mohning of Ames, and Jay Christopherson of Vermillion, S.D.

Flower girl was Ashley Minnick, cousin of the bride. Ring bearer was Jared Minnick, cousin of the bride, both from West Point, Neb.

A reception dinner and dance followed the ceremony at the Le Mars Convention Center.

Kari is a 2001 graduate of Gehlen Catholic High School and is currently a student in the diagnostic ultrasound program at the University of Iowa. She will receive her degree in radiation sciences in May 2006.

Bryce is a 2001 graduate of Le Mars Community High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of Iowa, where he received his degree in management information systems. He is currently employed with the Principal Financial Group as an information technology systems developer.

Following their wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple is at home in Iowa City.
