James B. and Kathy Johnson of Ames, announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Ann Johnson of Frisco, Texas to Brian Hix of Irving, Texas. Brian is the son of Doyle and Sharon Hix of Irving, Texas.

Heather's grandmothers are Charlette A. Haakinson and Mary Reibe Baldes. Both grandmothers live in Sioux City.

The couple is planning a spring wedding.

Heather graduated with a bachelor of business administration degree in entrepreneurship and strategic management at The University of North Texas-Denton in May of 2001. She works for the Pepsico Support Center as a customer liaison in Frisco, Texas.

Her fiancee attended Texas A & M and is currently studying to become a paramedic through the Methodist Hospital in Dallas. Brian is a firefighter for the Richardson Fire Department in Richardson, Texas.
